Latest City Council timing on street rename project

Per MWCA email May 7, with updates based on the May 10 City Council meeting.

Street Renaming Vote moved to June 28

Hello Mosby Woods Neighbors,

In an effort to gain feedback from residents who are just learning of the Connecting Fairfax City for All initiative, and due to unforeseen travel schedules of some City Council members, the City Council has moved the public hearing and Council action on streets recommended to be renamed to June.

The May 10 City Council meeting included discussion of the process and timeline. Please note these important date changes:

  • 7 p.m. June 14: Public hearing on whether to change street names recommended by the Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG)
  • 7 p.m. June 28: Council action (voting) on whether to change the SAG recommended streets names
  • June 29 through August 29: 60 day public comment period on naming ideas for streets approved for change

Please continue to read and share comments on Engage Fairfax. The comments will be shared with the mayor and council.

If you have not already, please sign up to stay connected and receive email updates on various projects throughout the city
