From the City’s “Connecting Fairfax City for All” initiative:
The City invites all residents to participate in the Community Listening and Learning Sessions that are part of the City’s Connecting Fairfax City for All initiative to examine racial and social equity in Fairfax City.
The next Community Listening and Learning Session is scheduled for Thursday April 8 at 7:00 pm and is entitled “Fairfax Schools: Racially-Separate to Desegregation to Diversity.” The session features the following panelists: Dr. Phyllis Parjardo, Superintendent, Fairfax City Schools; Dr. Erin Lenart, Principal, Fairfax High School; and Mitch Sutterfield, School Board member.
On April 22, 2021, Tom Gjelten, author of A Nation of Nations: A Great American Immigration Story and a veteran National Public Radio correspondent, and Eric Forman, City of Fairfax Planner and Demographer, will present “Fairfax City: Our Changing Demographics.”
