Annual MWCA Halloween festivities this weekend

As we lead up to Tuesday’s evening of trick or treating, get your family into the spooky spirit with our Friday decorating contest and Sunday parade.

Decorating Contest

Decorate your home for Halloween. Judging will take place on the evening of Friday, October 27th starting at 6pm. Winners will be announced Saturday. We will have one Grand Prize Winner and four Honorable Mention selections. The more participants the more fun it will be for everyone. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative designs.

Halloween Parade

The 45th Annual MWCA Halloween Parade is nearly here. Join us at the pool in costume on Sunday, October 19 at 2:30pm. The parage will step off at 3:00.

The police department, fire department, and Fairfax High School marching band will lead the parade to continue their tradition.

For anyone who is new to the walking parade, kids (and their adults) arrive at the pool parking lot in their costumes. They chat with neighbors, take pictures of your kids in costume while they’re still fresh, say hi to the City police personnel and firefighters and gathering marching band. Families will be instructed to line up behind the band.

At 3pm, the fire truck, police car, and marching band will lead the way for the parade route. Wave to neighbors and have fun!

Finish the parade at the pool. Grab a snack in the parking lot before heading home.

Thanks to all of the volunteers to make this event happen year after year. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Laura Bowles at lauralbowles@gmail.com.
