All members of the Community Association are invited to the annual general membership meeting on October 19, 7:30 pm at Blenheim Civil War Interpretive Center. Neighbors interested in joining the association can get more information on our Contact page.
The agenda will include election of Area Directors, Officers, and a presentation from the City of Fairfax about the Fair Woods Parkway neighborway project. MWCA has been working with the City to review the previous version of the plan and to incorporate changes based on community feedback received on the City’s engagement website.
The MWCA board developed and used this set of guiding principles for our conversation with the city about the project:
- Maintain and prioritize the needs of MW residents, especially those on Fair Woods Parkway, for convenient parking, safe driving, easy entry into, and exit from the neighborhood
- Promote simultaneous coexistence of pedestrians, bikes, and vehicles in a safe environment
- Maintain the multi-generational, cohesive, visually appealing character of the neighborhood
- Enhance bicycle and pedestrian connectedness to the larger community beyond Mosby Woods
